Is that a chainsaw. . .0

in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

This Pocket Chainsaw  - which looks like what James Bond would sling around to decapitate a super-spy –  is best stored in a SHIRT pocket, of course.  Silly me.

But really, this Pocket Chainsaw is a serious, functional tool.  According to manufactured  Supreme Products, Inc., it can cut through a 3” diameter limb in less than 10 seconds.  That’s pretty fast, though I suspect you need to have much larger biceps than I do for the job.

The 28″ cutting blade is made of  high-strength heat-treated steel and sports  124 bi-directional teeth.   The blade is coated to resist rust and can be used by 1 or 2 persons.  It weighs only 5 ounces and can fit in your pocket – in the tin can, hopefully.

Reviews are quite positive for the Pocket Chainsaw, with many users claiming it is easier to use than a regular saw.  This makes sense given not only the curved cutting area provided, but also the amount of weight you can lean into the blade when cutting.

But, that also means you have to be careful.  As with a motorized chainsaw, the hunk of wood that you are cutting is gonna fall practically on your feet.

The only negative comments I’ve found with this saw are that it is difficult to re-sharpen.  I can tell you that I’ll be buying one for my next island camping trip.  And I’ll let you know how it works.

Valentines Day is coming up -  who do you know that needs a chainsaw in his pocket?
