KitchenAid Fridge Flashes Family Pics0

It’s bad enough that you don’t cook like dear old mom.  Now you get to have her watching your every move as well.

KitchenAid just announced that its new French Door Bottom Freezer Refrigerator will have a full-color LCD screen which will allow you to display Mom’s mug – as well as other favorite photos – right on the front of your fridge.  No more magnets falling off every time you open the thing.  But what will you bring home from the next family vacation?

Other features of the LCD screen include a timer and access to ingredient substitutions and measurement conversions. There’s also info on how to care for your fridge, because, well… do you know anything about that?

Aside from the screen, the fridge also has a USB port, which makes it easy to load those family photos. The company hasn’t said how many pics the fridge can hold, but we’re guessing it’s more than your last refrigerator.

Other fridge-like features include contoured doors and a super-slick chrome finish. There are individually sealed compartments with a pantry compartment that has an independent temperature control. That means your cheese won’t freeze and your lettuce might get an extra few days of crispness. The in-door water and ice system can even spit out precise measurements for when you are flailing around the kitchen gathering ingredients for a recipe . KitchenAid also says you should be able to stock more goodies into the unit, thanks to more shelf space and two additional cubic feet.

Expect the KitchenAid French Door Bottom Freezer Refrigerator to start selling in April for $2,799.
