While publishing our recent post about Rebuilding Together, I read about the Fifty for Five campaign to rebuild and reclaim New Orleans.   Nic Darling of 100K House Blog went down to Gulf Coast in August and blogged as a roving reporter on all the festivities.
Darling describes himself  as having ” a tendency toward long-winded philosophical rambling and opinionated diatribes, but he tries to only use those powers for good.”  See if you think he got it right.

Eye Candy:  Pretty, pretty pictures.  Inside and out.  International in scope.

Unhappy Hipsters:  more pretty pictures  -  but they are nothing without the words.

Heard of Slow Food?  This is Slow Home, a couple of design guys advocating for better residential design.  They say, “The sprawl of cookie cutter housing that surrounds us is like fast food – standardized, homogeneous, and wasteful. Like fast food, these houses are bad for us and the environment. A Slow Home is the opposite of this too fast mindset  . . . a house that is simple to live in and light on the environment. It has been designed to benefit the lives of the people who reside in it.”

They are starting a new video format on Monday, September 12.  Be the first on your block to see it!

Have a great weekend!
