Internet Tools: How To Build a Treehouse0

Building a tree house for the kiddies (or for yourself—I’m 45 years old and I want one!) can be quite the challenge.  But not to worry, the Internet has a whole bunch of detailed guides to help you out.  Here are just a few:

  • Ron Hazelton’s House Calls:  This site provides not only some concise building instructions, but also videos detailing each step in the process.  I would highly recommend this site as your starting point, just to see what you’re getting into.
  • Disney Family Fun: No nifty videos here, but this site is no slouch on providing instructions.  It also has a materials list – including prices – and several tiny photos of a guy who looks like one of the Mario Brothers building a tree house.
  • BuildEazy: This site provides an actual floor plan of a tree house attached to a swing set.   Eight pages of detailed, step-by-step instructions – each with many pictures – could make your backyard the best one on the block.   A materials list (sans prices) is also provided.

While no means a comprehensive list of tree house construction references available online, these are definitely some of the best.

So, when you’re sure you’re ready to build, come on over to my house.  I have a nice tree in the back yard that would be perfect for the job . . .
