Former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan just lowered the price of his Malibu, California home to a smooth $3,500,000 – that’s $400,000 less than the original asking price.
What does it have to offer? A secret tunnel, or two? An underground headquarters for submarine cars, jetpacks, and other high-tech James Bond gear such as a pen that shoots explosive darts (one of my favorites)?
You would think that with the 3 million dollar price tag it would at least have a few spy-like amenities—but odds are you won’t find it here. What the home does offer is quite nice, though not that large: 3 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms.
A somewhat strange mixture of Caribbean, Mediterranean, and Tuscan design, the home was purchased out of foreclosure by Mr. Brosnan in October 1996 for $600,000.
The living room has vaulted ceilings sporting wood beams, a custom fireplace, walls of glass, and an impressive view:
The kitchen has skylights and a view of the ocean. The adjacent dining room has a fireplace as well as a staircase that provides access to the lawn and garden.
The master suite allows quite a bit of privacy, including a sitting area, a balcony, and a large bathroom with a fireplace and a claw-foot bathtub.
I’d say this house is worthy of 007 himself. I can see him sitting on the balcony, overlooking the ocean and sipping a martini—shaken, not stirred, of course.
And don’t forget to enter our FIY giveaway. It’s not a new house. But every little bit helps.
